“Undress My Heart” Illustrations

Hello my friends!

I wanted to share with you a bit more about my forthcoming WCS Poetry collection “Undress My Heart.” In this post, I’d like to introduce you to two very special individuals.

Nina image

Anjali Nina Banerji created all the illustrations for “Undress My Heart.” A freelance artist and character designer, Nina is an amazingly gifted professional. Here, enjoy Nina’s illustration for “Come To This Bed.”

come to this bed

Come To This Bed

In the closeness
Of near sleep,

I rest,
On the verge of dream…

My mind escaping
The doldrums,
And monotony,
Of this passing day.

My breath regressing
To the mean
Of luxuriance and passion.

Seeing only the hues
Of your eroticism,
This dreamscape ahead
Foretells every moment
Of ecstasy
A man could ever imagine,

And desire…

In your arms.

Complete perfection.

Complete beauty.

Complete elegance…

In the intersection of your longing,

And mine.

Please come,

No more apparition
Of the sensual,

No more delay
Of our forever.

Just please,

Bring me back
From this beautiful
To the reality
Of your singular splendor.

Wake me with
The silken caress
Of your unequalled grace.

Come take
And touch me.

My love,

Come now,

Come to this bed.

Nina’s illustration completely captures the beautiful, intimate, connection between a man and a woman….so deeply in love. Don’t you agree?

I’d also like to introduce you to Sarah Bachenheimer. A ceramic and digital artist, Sarah was responsible for translating Nina’s illustrations into cover art for “Undress My Heart.” (Cover posted earlier this week.) Sarah works for Tsunami Tsolutions, and volunteers with the TechTigers, an all-girl FIRST Robotics team, teaching high school girls to use digital and graphic arts for marketing and team branding, stressing the importance of art in technology.

Both Nina and Sarah are amazing!

Know, my friends, that this journey toward publication has been incredibly rich and fulfilling. Beyond my simple words, I have been graced to connect with Nina and Sarah…such talented artists, and professionals. I am immensely grateful to both.

I remain very excited about this project! My next post to you about “Undress My Heart,” will be to announce its publication and flight beyond my pen…to you.

So many thanks for your support.

All my best,

  6. Thank you for sharing your talented artists with us! I have looked over the cover a few times and gone in for close ups. The imagery is lovely. The quiet expressions are so heartfelt. It all pairs so beautifully with your poetry. It’s easy to tell that a whole lifetime has gone lovingly into this work. These are not just words on a page. It is yourself you share with all of us. It’s very real, that’s a beautiful thing. And, it’s delightful how you share the process along the way. But, not like a documentary. It’s more like your overflowing joy at a dream coming true. A wonderful thing! Enjoy every moment Bill! Cheers my friend! 🥂

    Have a superb day! 😊

    1. Oh … Suzanne. Your comments are so wonderful and greatly appreciated. I am so blessed to have crossed paths with Nina and Sarah. Last fall I met Nina, read some of poetry and mentioned that I wanted illustrations that portrayed understated sensuality and elegance. With just that simple guidance, Nina created exactly what I was looking for. I’m just thrilled!

So many thanks for your encouragement and support!!

      Have a wonderful evening!
