Seeping Into My Silence

Deafening silence,
Cacophony of the lonely,
Mocking…

Desolate,
Another day
Passing me…

By.

Twilight the backlight,
My single-ness,
Bare,
Unprotected,
Susceptible.

But as crescent Moon
Exposes another night’s world,
Sister Venus whispers,
Vernal dreams,
Love sighing,
Affirming,
Coaxing me from the solitary,
My mind relaxes,
Reaching for you.

Portrait, glorious quiet paints,
Tawny tendrils, falling,
Your mahogany curls spilling,
Plush pillows,
Alabaster sheets,
Our bed-clothes,
Wearing passion…

Gorgeous,
You flood my mind,
Filling the void,
Filling me,

Brightening the darkness of loneliness,

My mind visualizing,
Tasting your presence.

Quiet stillness is not loneliness,
But a chance to observe.

I am learning to listen…

Hearing your gentleness,
Sensing your healing,
Touching your grace,
As you enter my dreams,

Seeping,
Beautifully…

Into my silence.

  5. I love how this poem seems to meander like a stream… one minute you think it’s headed for feelings of despair, but then it shifts into this beautiful feeling of fulfillment and hope. Simply thinking of that special person makes the silence magical and there’s this sense of calm that envelopes you. I can feel that calm in your words, Bill. Absolutely beautiful, my friend!
