Final Arbiter

My love…

What is most important to you?
What paints your aspirations?
What defines that in which you believe…

And value,

And hold dear…

As if your life depended on it?

What assures that your sun will rise?
What firm foundation brings you peace…

And a confidence in the way ahead?

So many questions,
So many worries,
So many uncertainties.

But know this,
My love…

I am here,
Here to amplify the important,
To resonate your perfection,
To punctuate that which you cherish.

You, my love,
Are in control.

Control of this moment.

Control of what defines your joy.

Whisper to me
What you need,
What you yearn for,

And know,

Know more than anything,
How much I love,
And respect,
And treasure,

I am here to deliver our dreams…

You, my love,
Define our dreams.

You are…

The final arbiter.

    1. Thank you, Gina. Perhaps there’s something old-fashioned that I felt in these words. Just a man’s sense of the woman’s aspirations, and bringing them to her…at her time and place. She, the final arbiter of what is right, and good in her life. And the man, finding great, chivalrous joy in providing. Perhaps some would find that out of synch with today’s world.

      Guess I’m out of synch….

I really appreciate your thoughts! Have a wonderful Friday!

      1. Stay old fashioned… Please!
Chivalrous joy is wrongly mistaken for weakness or indifference sometimes. You are on the right course, blessed is she who benefits from your thoughtfulness and sensitivity.

A lovely evening to you too my friend.

  4. I imagine the dream and the dreamer. The answer is known before the question is fully out. A gentle moment, a soft exchange and a joy that eases two hearts. So beautifully written Bill, really well done.

  5. “What paints your aspiration?”.
The whole work is so quiet and crystallized like a lonesome scream. I like the entirety of your work.
