Pure, Perfect, Profound

Weeping on the inside,
My tears, absorbed,
Feigning strength,
Smile, slowly fading,
As I watched you walk
Out of my moment,
Heading to your gate,
Your flight waiting,
To take you away,
And my reason to breathe,
As well.

Throngs of travelers swirled,
Kaleidoscope of colors,
Faces focused on other places,
Suitcases, sounds, a blur,
No one noticing me,
Nor my shielded sorrow,
As I wept,
Watching you head
Beyond my world,
Beyond me.

Bohemian, casual chic,
Your clothes swayed,
With your hips
As you walked,
Your tawny tendrils,
Swaying as well,
Dancing for my eyes,
In beautiful rhythm,
Reality getting smaller,
As the distance grew larger.

But then…

You stopped…

Nearly, now, a distant dream…

And you turned,
To face me.

Putting down your carry-on,
You raised your right hand,
Pursed your plush lips,
And blew a kiss to me…

A breeze washing my ache,
Rinsing my sadness,
Strengthening my hope,
Reassuring my heart,
Knowing that you will return
To my arms…

Knowing, unquestionably,
That you love me.

One simple gesture…

Pure, perfect, profound.

    1. So many thanks, Jamie!! I just love the rawness and profound beauty of separations…knowing that they are only temporary. Do you know what I mean?

    1. Thank you Dorothy!!!

I think I’ve spent way too much time of my life in airports…but to visualize a beautiful woman turning around and blowing a kiss to a man she loves, seems to make it all better.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and encouragement!!!!
