Rose Petals…My Pillow

Evening’s ambrosia,
Spilling around us.

You,
Me,
Richness of quiet,
Beauty of togetherness,
Echoing all that is good,
And right.

Sofa our garden,
Fireplace flames leaping,
Rejoicing in vernal harmony,
Lighting our spring sunset.

Daffodil ambers,
Reaching for heaven,
Crocus magentas, alabaster tulips,
Springing from hearth’s loam,
Swaying to the pop,
Evening breeze,
Yearning to warm.

You,
My Gardener, holding,
Sustaining,
Nurturing,
Protecting your loyal blooms,
Protecting me.

I,
I your servant.

I,
I your defender.

I,
I your lover.

Resting,
Sleep near,
Garden so safe,
My head on your shoulder,
The woman I worship.

Now,
Now I can sleep
In the bouquet
Of your arms.

Now,
Now I can dream,
In floral glory
Of your heart.

Now,
Now I can rest
In your gentleness,

Your soft rose petals…

My pillow.

      1. As long as whispers and rumors are there,,, we can imagine ourselves under oak trees and pen long verses…
