My Beautiful Bridge

Hurting forest,
My view, obscuring,
No clear path,
Briars of past wounds,
My voice,
Thorns choking.

Hungering to breathe…

To feel,
To inhale life’s blooms,
My fingers,

Your breeze,
Your spirit,
Beneath me,

Gently holding me,
Ascending in love,
Wounding woodlands,
Left below,
Heart’s bleeding,
Wrapped in your healing,
Rainbow of warmth,
Colors, safety,
Relationship, real,
My tears,

Just holding you,
Just feeling,
Your arms spanning my troubles…

A forever
I can see.

Your smile…

My beautiful bridge,
To living again.

  1. I like the use of verbs ending with -ing in this poem. Such forms allow the reader to linger in each verse and savor word by word.

  2. I loved the use of nature imagery in this, and the use of bridge as a metaphor for forging bonds. It works at both at literal and metaphorical level! well done!
