Heard Deeply In Me (Spoken Word Poetry)

Arms interlaced,
Your head on my bare chest,
Sharing a warmth,
New destiny ours.

Feel my chest rising,
Slowly on inhale,
Soft whispers of exhale,
Serenity free.

My warmth your blanket,
And body your cradle,
To hold you, to love you,
To be your repose.

Drink in this moment,
Spilling new memories,
Taste our sweet touching,
And savor dawn’s dream.

Press closely your ear,
Pour curls on my body,
Join gently your cheek,
With my firmness of flesh.

Quietly listen,
Your ear a soft touch point,
Physique amplifying,
Rich resonance, mine.

My heart softly chanting,
Life’s refrain, silken voices,
Lush language of love,
A whisper to you.

So certain my heart beat,
Forever a coursing,
The blood of my soul,
A longing renewed.

Rest on me now,
Your cheek to my bare chest,
And hear your forever,
A true guarantee.

This pure perfect moment,
My testament spoken,
Heard deeply, so deeply,

In me.

  10. Poetry is better recited than read, drama better be staged than said, these words are of my professor of romantic poetry back when I was doing Masters In English Literature! What’s interesting is the use of pause and diction to convey emotions, in this case the intimacy which you express sublimely and softly. Definitely recitation has transformed the texture!
