Let The World Know (Spoken Word Poetry)

When I wrote this poem a few days ago, it was begging to be spoken. I succumbed. 😊

Thank you for allowing me to revisit this work.

Walls of the heart,
Bulwark of emptiness,
Our armor,
Shielding senses,
Protection from past pain,
Uncertain future.

Thwarting arrow of risk,
Piercing,

Lance of loss,
Thrusting.

Panoply of commitment,
Rainbow of romance,
Shining, brightly,
Barely noticed
Heart’s citadel occluding…

A deception of protection.

Tear down this false fortress,
For a life truly lived.

Fears, uncertainty of all,
Challenges,
Stumbles,
Emotions, scars foretelling,
Serpentine,
Stinging…

But with trust,

Defeated.

So with open arms,
I consume,
I breathe,
I relish…

You.

Unvarnished,
Glorious,
Raw,
Ripping,
Reality…

Yes.

I love you.

I don’t give a damn
What others think.

I don’t give a damn
What others say.

I don’t give a damn
About the murmurs,
Or whispers,
Or rumors.

Buttons popping,
Now.

Shirt cloth,
Torn,
Shredded.

My naked heart,
Bare,
Indecent,
Exposed.

Showing,
Telling,
Speaking,
Splashing my emotional paint…

Everywhere.

Don’t care.

Unafraid.

Unashamed.

I just need you.

I just want you.

I just love…

You.

Let the whole world know.

Dammit…

Let the whole world know.

    1. So many thanks Mamen!!!

I did want to convey a sense of conviction…an inner, unstoppable strength when a man loves a woman at all costs.

      Does that make sense?

My heart just had to speak.

      1. It makes all the sense in the world. When someone wants something with all their soul, they have to try again and again with strength and courage and more when it comes to love πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you!! I really appreciate your thoughts and support!

I feel badly in that I don’t know how to reply to you from a more personal level. Certainly understand that names are very sensitive. Happy to refer to you as “SPF” if that’s best.

Sorry if I’m overly concerned. I just appreciate your comments and wanted to return the gesture appropriately.

      Thank you for understanding.

        SFP 100 will do 😊

Bill, my name is Gabriela. Most people call me G. Do you think you can do that?😊

I am sincerely touched by the way you approach the issue of my name. Thank you!

        Have a fabulous evening!

        I love that!

So, Gabriela…G…I would like to refer to you in that superlative….if you don’t mind. 😊

If you prefer G… just let me know.

Regardless, I appreciate your sharing Gabriela. I hope you have a wonderful evening as well… wherever you may be.

    1. So many thanks Gina.

I just had this vision of the heart rebelling…no longer willing to live behind the supposed safety of obscurity.

Just the willingness to risk is all, regardless of the consequences…the theme.

So many thanks, as always, for investing your very precious free time to spend a few minutes with me.

      Very impactful.

Hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday!!

      Thank you.

      1. Be brave with the big things. Following our hearts purpose is not the smoothest path but the rewards are so worth it. The a chance Bill, even in writing we need to explore with honesty and adventure in spirit.

Always a joy to stop here and read. You make the words sing a new song every time.

Have a good evening my friend.

    1. Thank you Gianna. I have this habit of needing to read aloud all my poems before posting. In doing so the other day, the words just seemed to have more gravitas when spoken.

So, I just felt like it needed to be done. Sorry for pushing out the same poem to WP in such a short period of time. I appreciate the understanding.

      1. Oh, never apologize for that! You are a spoken word poet. Art (and life) needs to be expressed out loud. This one certainly had a different feel to it and hearing it read aloud lends volumes (sorry about the pun) to its expression. This one is a favorite.
