Settle Into Me (Spoken Word Poetry)

It’s not just the warmth
Of the fireplace,

Adding to the romance
Of the moment…

A kaleidoscope of
Oranges,
Reds,
Ambers…

Dance from the embers,
Splashing faint rouge on
The walls of the
Darkened room,

Scintillations
Of energy building
A heat in us,
Glimmers exposing
A need,
Tonight,

Curled up,
Together
On this sofa.

It’s not just the crack,
Pop,
Hiss of the wood,
Converting to flame,

But a symphony
Of natural beauty
Orchestrating our touch.

Now,
My love,

Is our time.

Blend your spirit
With mine.

Consume the dancing light…
Your eyes,
With my eyes,
So focused
On our forever.

Draw our bodies,
All the more tightly
To union,
That lasts our lifetime.

Drink in the love,
Our love.

Settle into this glorious night,

Settle into the radiance of the fire,

Settle into slow-burning sensuality,

Settle into…

Me.

  2. It’s really a very beautiful poem, the choice of words is commendable! Also the imagery of fire 🔥 and warmth. The description of snuggling on sofa besides warm fire in winters is so comforting. 5 stars for this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

      1. haha! I was brought up old school! I think that’s a beautiful picture of the perfect kind of evening! So many people nowadays don’t appreciate something simple as enjoying a quiet night in front of the fireplace, or sitting on a beach watching the sunset. Sometimes those simple moments are the most memorable. So I say GO ROGUE!!! 🙂
