Our Forever Far Away… (Spoken Word Poetry)

Outstretched fingertips,

Mine…

Across new day’s dawn,
Arcing emptiness,
Miles and emotions,

Straining to touch,

Yours.

Slipping free
Rusted shackles,
Chain links of loneliness,

Grasping heart’s freedom
Far flung infinitude,
Shimmers of mutual destiny,

Longing for
Boundless blue skies,
Verdant, Elysian Fields beneath,
Our bodies and spirits alive…

Lustrous eternity together awaits.

This mere moment,
Souls separately searching,
Our story not yet written,

But a right rich horizon,
So close.

Hands clasped,
Pulses paired,
Hearts rapid, racing,
First step forward,
Now.

Our forever far away,
But with courage to live,
Deeply committed,
Together, first step taken,

Our forever,

So very, very close.

  10. Sorry, I should have said the spoken word. We live in Africa where we get to hear American accents every day on TV… but I must say that your voice is melodic, Bill.
