Brought To This Moment… (Spoken Word Poetry)

Tortuous twisting paths,
Mortality’s destination,
Life’s ultimatum,
Never foretold…

Only to unfold.

Moments of hurt,
Blend of pain,
Passion,
Sadness,
Joy,

Kaleidoscope of past,
Blur of now,
Fog of future.

Nothing certain,
But this…

This moment…
Now,
Just you,
And me.

We are here.

Quirk of fate?
Perhaps.

Blind luck?
Maybe.

Maybe it doesn’t matter.

Know this,
My love.

This is what I believe,
Truth as my heart sees it.

That in eternity,
Eons prior,
And hence,

Now is our nexus.
Now is our first step.
Now is our beginning…

Of forever.

This is what I believe,
Truth as my heart sees it.

I was brought here,

I was brought to this moment…

To love you.

  3. As a scientist, I believe it’s cause and effect…and a whole lot of “must’ve done something good”. This is one for your book.

      2. So glad that you liked it Stella!

I’ve come to find that my “free verse” style of writing is, in reality, founded in the spoken word. Every time I write, I read it aloud to myself, and can’t post it until I’m happy with the tone and timbre. The rhythm and resonance.

Maybe, just now, I’m figuring out what I need as a writer. That is to speak what I write.
