Not About Lust… (Spoken Word Poetry)

You can taste it,
Can’t you?

That smoldering,
So deep down
Inside of me.

The need to touch…

The need to be

Touched.

Complete release of the now,
Taking us both
To another place…

Of tranquility,
Emotional union,
Complete commitment,
And savory exhaustion,

All of this desire
And urgency so present in me…

Present in my eyes,
Present in the beat of my heart,
Present in the warmth
Of my breath,

Whispering on the bareness
Of your naked neck.

But stop,

Look at me,

Know in the deepest
Depths of your heart
This truth…

Yes,
I want,
I need,
And long for nothing but you…

Now.

But my want,
And need
Are so much more
Than the physical,

So much more
Than the temporal.

The entirety of life
Cannot be complete
Unless joined
With you…

But only when you are ready.

Only when you need,
And want me

Too.

This is not about fast.

This is not about shallow.

This is not about lust…

This is about
You and me.

This is about
Our dream of forever.

This is about…

Love.

    1. I’m so glad that you enjoyed it Mamen!!

There is a holistic importance and value when the physical is elevated to something so much more.

At least, that’s what I believe.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful evening!

  1. I so agree and also I feel that Uncontrollable and foreseen in modern day, this emotion is gaining a lot of weightage as people are revolving around it I’m talking about Lust of Life. The other ‘L’ orto further call it the sacred one is now being replaced and lust has taken over. Love is now a very rare phenomenon and only those who feel it with their heart and not with their bodies experience it.
My recent post is about lust and I feel that it will be great if it gets your inputs. Do drop in.
