The Fantasy of Reality

The reality of it is…

That I am not worthy
Of you.

Neither the gentleness
Of your touch,
Nor the healing
Of your embrace.

I am not worthy
Of your precious moments
Of life,
Nor the breath
That fills your lungs
With purity.

But still,
You reach deeply
Into me,
For reasons
Only your heart
Can fathom.

You hold me
When I’m
Failing,
When any other
Would with certainty,
Cast me
To emptiness.

You whisper my name
And call me your own,
When I’m simply
One of a thousand
Tiny stars
Filling your
Illimitable galaxy.

Why my love?

Why do collect
Me to you?

Why do you
Grant me the quiet
Of your oasis?

Why do you enrobe me
In the richness,
And depth of your passion…

Carrying us both to an endless,
New beginning?

Never wake me
From this elegant dream.

Never lead me
Beyond the looking glass.

Never,

Please never

Wrest me from

The fantasy of reality.

      2. Thanks Gina. Not sure my style is terribly polished, but it’s just the voice that came to me when I started this writing journey. I do want it to be straightforward and approachable to everyone. So glad you enjoy it, and thank you for the support!!

      3. its your individual style and I like reading the more personal styles than a “polished poet”. Though I suspect every poet feels they are never ever do meet the bar. It’s how you form the flow of words, like prose poetry which allows the reader to slowly fall into the rhythm – in my humble opinion and this is how I read poetry. keep writing, your style is very appreciated as it is now.

    1. That means so much to me Tanya and so very kind of you to say. It makes me very happy to know that my thoughts, bound in words, can be unbound, understood, and enjoyed by others. Thank you for taking the time to read my work and provide your comments. Hope you have a great day!

      1. It’s not difficult to pen polished and rhyming words on paper anyone can do that , but a real poet brings forth feelings, emotions and sensations and that is the reason why you relate to certain poems more than others.
