Completely Consumed

After so many years…

Both she,
And he,
Remain amazed.

How is it,
That the passion
Never seems to get old?

How is it,
That he knows
Just how,
Just how to please her…

With maybe a surprise,
Or two.

How is it,
That she knows
Just how,
Just how to make him
Feel so incredibly special…

With maybe a surprise,
Or two.

But on this Friday night,
Now late,
Darkness settled,
Neighbors long asleep…

He and she,
Lay there,
In their bed,

Just a hint of late summer breeze
Enrobing their sanctum,
Cooling their overheated bodies.

The night song of summer,
Orchestrating a melody of peace
And satisfaction,
Playing in their ears.

The beat of their hearts,
So recently racing,
Now receding,
To a special,
Satisfied place.

It was there,
Just there,
That both she,
And he,
Felt so totally connected,
And still…

Meant for one another.

Even after
All these years.

Completely pure.

Completely perfect.

Completely…

Completely consumed.
