…Against Me

And what of…

The pureness
Of your silky skin,
Against mine.

Just the consummation
Of a feeling…

Just the consummation
Of a heat…

Of a passion,
And burning.

Who suggested
That we had nothing in common?

Who implied that there was
No room to find
A touch point?

Who opined
That we would never

This is what
I believe.

I believe that tonight,

We’ve attested
To our perfection.

Our arms
So completely.

Our eyes
Lock on one another,
So naturally.

Our lips,

Elegant in their desire,

Connect as if
Made for each.

This night,
We confirmed
What we knew
To be true,

All along.

Our bodies,
Our minds,
Our sex,

Our hearts,

And profoundly

Are meant to connect,

And be one.

All I need,
Is to have you,
Is to see you,
Is to taste you…

Against me.

  1. Hi, Bill 🙂 Stopping by to let you know that your writing prompt led to some interesting results. The new poem isn’t necessarily on the original topic, but it has some aspects of it, I guess. It was incredibly good/theraputic to get that out on paper and wasn’t something I’d been able to address in creative form yet. I’m not sure if I’m going to post it because it’s so personal (and 958 words!!!) but I’m really proud of this one. Thanks so much for the healthy encouragement!

      1. Wonderful!!! So glad for you!!!

I am confident that you and I can accomplish anything that we put our minds to.

We just need to lean forward and have faith.

    1. Hi Sara! Thanks for the note and update! Some things I write are just for me…and I don’t post them. So I totally understand the deliberation. For me…posted or not…I can still savor the cathartic benefits from having expressed the thoughts before my eyes…if only for me.

So happy for you and I wish you all the best on your creative journey!!

    1. Thank you so much Susan! I must admit that I so enjoyed writing that piece. Sometimes a thought or scene comes to mind, and I just have to get the words “on paper.” This piece was one of those.

As always, I so much appreciate your interest and willingness to invest precious moments of your time reading. Means a lot!
