Get You Out Of That Dress

Friday night…

The week done,

Done for you,

Done for me.

Maybe it was no surprise
When you
Finally got home,

And I followed you
To our bedroom.

You feigned ignorance
As I fell in
Behind you…

Watching your hips,
Lift your
Sensual body,
Up those stairs…

Each step,
The lushness
Of your figure,
Teasing me,
Compelling me
To follow

You feigned ignorance
As well,
When I pursued you
Into your dressing room,
As if I was on
A mission…

I was.

There was no denying
When you paused,
Kicking off
Those heels…

Accentuating the lines of
Your legs,

Knowing that surely,

You were teasing me,

When you stood
Your full length mirror…

Me behind you,

Eyes locked
In the reflection,

There was no more teasing
Nor uncertainty.

You corralled
Your mane,
Lifting if off your back,

Exposing you
To me,

For help.

And as I have
On so many
Former Fridays,

I gently,
So gently
Rested my hands
On the silk
Of your shoulders.

All that was needed now
Was some simple dexterity,

My right thumb,
And right index finger

That zipper tab
Of your dress,

Just there…

There it is.

As I urged that zipper downwards,
Each zipper coupling released,
Giving up their constriction,
Giving up their protection
Of your body,

Surrendering all
To me,

Conveying us
To a desired destiny.

We both knew
What we needed now.

Just an escape.

Just a release…

Just to
Get you out of that dress,

Just to
Get you into this night,

And get you into…

Get you into me.

    1. Thank you Marta!!! So very kind of you!!! I am exploring options to self publish. If it weren’t for that day job that gets in the way of my progress. Sigh…

      1. Yes, self publishing is a good option. You should only look carefully for the right platform. Some of my blog followers use amazon. I cannot help you because I don’t know anything about publishing. BTW, I have posted a new poem today that I wrote years ago. Unfortunately, it is not even half as good as your poems though it is getting likes and positive comments I did not expect at all:

      2. Thanks for the insight Marta! I was thinking about Amazon. What I really need is to hire someone to put it together, illustrate it…really make it look polished and professional. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or referrals.

And most importantly…I’m headed to your site now! ๐Ÿ™‚
