So done
With this day.

Up at 4:15am,
Gym for workout at 5:15am…
On the customer site at 7:15am.

Home at 5:30pm…
Company work…
Personal emails….

And now,

Don’t know where
This day went,
But I can state,

That I’m spent.

Tired of emails,
And work,
And telemarketers
Calling me.

I so desperately
Want nothing more
Than to sit down,
Turn off,
Tune out…

With the exception
Of a few things more…

Just picturing
Your perfect smile.

Just sensing
The silk
Of your touch.

Just fantasizing about
Holding you…

And feeling
Your bare chest,
On mine.

Pure connection.

So call me simple,
But this is all I want
To do
For the rest of this day.

I want to pour a drink,
I want to start this laptop,
I want to open a blank page,
See a blinking cursor…

And start dreaming
Of you.

Such release
And warmth
And associated passion
Will flood my consciousness…

Causing my heart to race
And my blood to pulse,

And in that moment
Of oasis,

I can free my mind,
I can free my body,
I can free my heart,

And journey
To a special,
So special place,
With you.

This day
Will surely end,
Just like all the others.

Restful sleep (hopefully),
Dreams of you (certainly),
And another alarm
At 4:15am (regrettably).

But tonight,
In this moment,
I can savor
Perfect passion,
And perfect visions
Of you…

And in doing so,
Let the words come,

Pouring from my mind,
Racing from my heart.

This is all
That I want to do now,
And for the rest of this day.

Just think of you,
And miss you
And create verse
For you.

All I want to do,
Do for you,
And me,

Is write…

    1. I so hate that! Sometimes I’ll wake up at 2am, knowing that I have to get up at 415 and I just lay there for 2hours…ugh. That’s such a killer for the pending work day! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Marta! I’m so glad you liked it! I found that one easy and fun to write, because it so closely follows my reality! I just have to write what I do! Easy! 😊

      1. Yes, there is always a part of us in each piece of writing, even in those writers that are somehow more able to detach themselves from their creations. This topic of infatuation is so relatable and you deal with it perfectly. You say it is easy for you. Wow, wish I could write as you do!
