Extend you hand…

Either one.

Wrist hinged,
So that your fingers
Point skyward,

And spread.

Place your outstretched hand,
Your fingers,
On my bare chest…

Over my heart.

Feel the sculpture
Of the musculature.

Sense a strength that is
Destined for you.

Feel the smoothness
Of my skin.

Sense a silkiness that is
Destined for your pleasure.

Feel the heat
Of my body.

Sense a burning that is
Stoked by our deepest secrets,
And wildest desires.

Sense a beat,
Sense my heart,
Sense my heart beat…

Sense something special,

And feel what I feel for you.

Feel the depth,
And conviction,
And power

Of true love.

Feel my chest,

Feel my heart,

Feel my love for you.

    1. That, Sue, is an enormously generous comment!! Thank you!! It’s so meaningful to me that someone as polished and accomplished as you see value. For that, my friend, I’m eternally grateful.

      I so appreciate your thoughts!!

      1. Please, not so much flattering! I am not perfect at all. Who is? I simply love poetry and reviewing. It is pleasure and therapy to me. As you know, I perfectly (and here “perfectly” is the right word) connect with your poetry.

    1. Thanks so much Stella! That means a lot to me! I love to create a scene that hopefully the reader can visualize and then add just a little edginess. Must say that I enjoyed writing “Feel.” I’m glad you enjoyed it!

      1. It’s hard to say but I guess that is what I like most about your writing, the edge. I do feel it and for a person that has been numb that is a great thing! I just wrote a poem about being numb it’s in draft. I hope you are well Bill!😃🙃

      2. Really appreciate your thoughts Stella and your support! And I must say that I love your work and look forward to your draft whenever you decide it’s ready! I can understand numbness…and strangely for me, writing seems to help. I don’t know, maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be with this writing thing. I do find it therapeutic.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

      3. Writing helps me very much. My blog use to be private and I had only one follower. That one follower encouraged me to make it public because I might help others. I started writing purely for therapy. Lol I think it’s kind of morphed since then but even now it helps. I’m having a great weekend so far. 🙂 I hope you find many reasons to laugh this weekend!:)
