You’ve Seen All Of Me

You’ve seen,
And touched
Every inch of my flesh.

You’ve tasted my heart,
And felt the growing
Swell of my love
And urgency.

You’ve heard
My passion
And echoed
The richness
Of our love-making.

But you’ve
Also seen me weep
Uncontrollably,
When my father died.

You’ve seen
Me suffer pain
From surgeries,
Crying out,

Fighting

To regain
Some sense
Of normalcy,
And routine.

This world,
Would suggest
That the physical,
The sexual,
The erotic
Image of our
Bodies
Is of utmost
Importance…

To be prized,
And exalted.

But I say
No.

We need to feel
And touch
And visually consume
The entirety
Of our
Lifelong partner…

Our true mate.

And you,

My love,

Have done
Just that.

You,

You

Have seen

All of me.

      1. You’re very welcome, Bill. 🙂 Yes, it is more than just seeing. It’s very easy to see the surface of someone, but I think it takes special vision to actually see the soul, heart and mind of someone. Your poem captured that beautifully. 😊
