Maybe You Thought…

I don’t begin
To understand,
Why you think
The way you do.

You seem to think
That my world
Revolves around you.

Something tells you
That I believe
Without question,
That you are
The most beautiful woman
I’ve ever met.

You somehow
Assume that
I can’t move forward…
I can’t live my life…
I will never find
Another woman
As alluring
And edgy
And sexy,

As you.

Maybe you thought
That I was weak,

So weak,

So needing of you,
When tasting
The eternity of just
One moment…

In your arms.

Maybe,

Just maybe,

You thought

I needed you
More than breath
To fill my lungs,

Or blood
To pulse through
My heart.

Maybe you thought
All these things…

And now,

Looking at myself
In the mirror,
And seeing only
A reflection of emptiness,
And longing,

I’ve come to realize…

Maybe,

Just maybe

You’re right.

      1. I totally agree with you. I like to think that finding out I can be wrong about something can be a nice reminder that I should keep my mind open to different ways of viewing things in my life. Not everything has to have a tragic ending. Not everything has to end happily, either. It keeps things balanced, I think. 😊

      3. Well, I’m always happy to know that I’ve made someone’s day or night! That just made my evening, as well! Thanks for the idea and for the pleasant conversation, my friend! Hope you have a beautiful rest of your evening, Bill! πŸ™‚

  1. If only lonely love
    would ever find another
    that could reciprocate
    what that
    alluring
    sexy
    edgy
    woman
    could not.
    Yet patience pays
    as we slowly recover
    from the inflicted wounds.
    We set them to dry
    in the sun until
    they just become scars
    of our mental landscape
    in a world where
    a ship of love
    needs its sails
    to journey across
    the ocean
    of new discovery.
