Finally in bed…
Physically
And mentally wrecked
From another difficult day,
The weight of fatigue
Spreading my body flat
On the sheets,
So needing of rest;
So needing of replenishment.
And as my mind
And heartbeat began
To slow,
A peace washed
Over me,
And a vision
Began to form
Before my closed eyes.
Grace,
Serenity,
Elegance,
Beauty…
You,
Drawing me
To another world.
Nothing more
Now,
Did I need
From this day,
Just transition to sleep,
And a chance to heal,
My body,
And my soul.
Just transition
To dreams
Of you,
Just transition to…
Transition
To the perfect.

I know that feeling: drifting in the waters between sleep and unsleep must be among the most healing. Beautiful poem.
