Not So Secret Admirer

Evident to her
Was his nervousness,
Whenever they were
Together.

Clear as well
Was the speed
With which
He responded
To her emails,

If seconds…
That was too long.

And of course,
The flush in
His cheeks
Could not
Be hidden

Whenever they met…

Despite his
Best intentions.

Funny how
Body chemistry
Has such a profound influence
On a man,
Or woman,

Slipping
To another place,

To another world…

Slipping,
Into,

Love.

She knew
Deep down inside,

That he was

Smitten

With her…

And that made
Her smile.

Surely,
He was her

Not so secret,

Secret admirer.

We all need to know that we are not alone with our thoughts on love, and life? You are always welcome Bill! Your writing is truly worthy of praise! Enjoy your weekend! It will be close to 100 here in Northern Cal. today! It is already gorgeous out!!

  2. My fondest memory of crushes (mine or theirs) was this one time on a date as we were walking back to the car he leaned in and kissed my cheek before jogging ahead.
In that moment I felt so special because I knew he’d been thinking about doing that and was trying to pluck up the courage.
His bashful daring won me over.
Thank you for reminding me of that Bill.

    1. That sounds like a wonderful idea, but I’m in the middle of power washing my deck! The writing will have to wait until this evening. Oh well.

Our mountain community had a close call two years ago! Remain enthusiastic with your writing Bill!! You have established recognition! ☺️
