Don’t You?

Maybe pathetic…

But that Heart emoji
You just sent me,

Stole mine.

And that Text Message
Wishing me a good day…

Well,

That,
That sent me
To heaven.

Don’t get me started…

On your eyes,

Gorgeous,

Rich,

Commanding.

No doubt…

I’m weak,
Or more precisely,

Susceptible,

So susceptible,
To you.

But,
I’m not going
To apologize
For being me…

So captivated,

So enamored,

By the beautiful,

You.

It is an amazing power
You wield,
Isn’t it?

Just a few simple words…

Just a few simple gestures…

Completely
Consume
Me.

You do know

What you do

To me…

Don’t you?

  6. Beautiful poem as always about infatuation and the apparent impossibility of a love relationship. I like how you translate this feelings into our current world of technology and virtual realities, where a “Heart emoji” steals someone’s own heart. These opening lines are very powerful like the rest of your poem.
