Drive You Wild

So gentle.

In your pleasure,

In you.

Our connection was neither foretold
Nor prescribed,
Nor predisposed.

Just a chance,
Then a dream,
And now
A gift.

Purely a moment of complete,
Sacrificed commitment…

Your body,

And my body,

Our testament
Of wholeness,

And satisfaction,

And release.

Wholly you,
In my arms,

And me…
In yours.

We are on a life journey,
With an unforeseen finish.

But what we understand,
And accept,
Is a chance to love,
And live
Beyond this world’s boundaries.

Just a pledge…

That you pledge,
To fuel me…

And I pledge

To seek…

To serve you.

An forever,

When the moment is right,

To drive you…

  1. I just read this poem while listening to Pat Metheny and Toots Thielemens’ Always Forever 1992 and the effect was sublime.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! When I get home from work tonight I’ll take your advice and try to do the same thing! Will let you know how it comes out!

    2. So Vera…first, I want to say how honored I am that you would consider reading my work while listening to such a beautiful composition. I had not heard that piece before, but did so just now while reading “Drive You Wild.” Immediately, I was attracted to the smoothness and depth of that instrumental, and in so many ways, it did resonate what I was trying to capture in words. Second, I’m so grateful for your willingness to explore reading my work in consonance with musical selections. It never occurred to me that the combination might be meaningful to others…so, you’ve opened my eyes. Thank you so much for giving some of your time and attention to my work, and for such a special comment. You really made my day, and made me smile. 🙂
