With Just One Click

Strange, how much courage
We wrongly believe
We have.

How we pursue what we long for,
And yet,
Cannot consummate
The final act,
Of professing love.

Regardless of the poetry,
And beauty,
Of that finished love letter,
Our world,
Seems to stifle
That which we so desperately desire.

The inner strength
For which we have wagered
All our pride,

Is a lost gamble of hope.

And with just one click,

Fearing rejection,

We hit “Delete”….

The love letter,

And we recycle our hearts
To a never-ending emptiness,

With just one click.

    1. Thanks! I’ll add it unless you suggest otherwise.
