Man Servant

He cooks for her,
Whatever she desires,
Whenever she desires it.

And the dishes,
Those too, he washes.

He does the yard work,
And picks up the dry-cleaning.
The grocery shopping?

He vacuums,
And does laundry,
And folds what needs to be put away,
Not so tidely she says,
And she’s right.

When she travels,
Though no one would know,
Or see,
He makes the bed,
And replaces the decorative pillows,
Again, not so tidely.

If the plumbing needs repair,
Or the paint a touch up,
Those, too, he does.

And, for no particular reason,
He sends her flowers.

Considering all these things,
Sometimes he feels as if
He is her man servant.

And he is…

And he loves it!
